Whilst these conversations continue to happen, we would like to remind you of our wellbeing resources to support you and tips on what everyone can do to help.

Wellbeing tips: 1. Reach out to the NGA team if you would like support 2. Join the NGA WhatsApp group (contact us via www.newgenaccountants.com to join) 3. Take a social media break 4. Speak to a therapist - we have many available to help in our network

What everyone can do to support: 1. Visibly show your support for #BlackLivesMatter 2. Get involved in your company’s Black or BAME employee resource network 3. PILLAR 1 UPDATE


#MyAccountancyJourney As part of the #MyAccountancyJourney on our Medium blog the NGA team interviewed the Credit Controller of iHorizon, Keyuri Dattani. The interview covered Keyuri’s family inspiration for working within accounting and the day to day details of her role. During school Keyuri found that Mathematics was her strongest subject and found that accounting would be the perfect match for her to use her skills. Her career was also inspired by her brother’s success as a chartered accountant. Keyuri detailed her mixed role and the training support which she receives from her apprenticeship at iHozion. Covid-19: Facing What’s Next, Together CABA offer free wellbeing support services and resources to help members of the ICAEW chartered accountant community manage the impact of the immense challenges Covid-19 has brought and empower them to take on what comes next. #BlackLivesMatter Town Hall In June we held a Black Lives Matter Town Hall for our NGA members to come together and discuss their thoughts and feelings about the murder of George Floyd and racial inequality in the UK. It was a powerful two-hour session where members had the opportunity to openly share their experiences in a safe space. Please let us know if you would like to attend a similar session in the future. IG Live with Jaynista We interviewed Jaynitsa Paul who is an Audit and Assurance Manager at Deloitte in the U.S. and also a representative for the National Association of Black Accountants. We discussed Jaynitsa's inspiring experiences pursuing international secondments, working abroad and finding time to give back to her community. We are now working on forming a more permanent relationship with the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) - watch this space!
